Things nobody makes any more: cameras and lenses, Super 8, watches, sound and screen (radios, cassette and CD players, televisions), games and handhelds, figures and sets, and objects for the home. Most pieces get an estimate on the spot. Watches, figures and rare pieces we price by hand within one working day, so you get a fair number rather than a cautious one.
How do you work out the price?
We look at what each piece sells for today and at what we pay for it ourselves, then count in how it looks and whether it works. You see one estimate per piece and a total. Shipping is already counted in; the label is free for you.
Is the estimate final?
No, it is an estimate. Within 48 hours of arrival we test every piece. Is everything as you described? Then we pay the estimate. Does the condition or working turn out different, we tell you what we found and talk it through with you. If we don't agree, we send everything back in one parcel, free.
Why do some pieces show a range or "personal offer"?
When we can't be sure from a photo, you see a range that we confirm after testing. Rare or valuable pieces, and watches, we price by hand within one working day, so you get a fair number rather than a cautious one.
What if I'm not sure it works?
Choose Not sure. We take 5% off and test it. If it does not work, it comes back to you at our cost. Broken pieces we only buy as part of a larger shipment.
How do I pack it?
Bubble wrap around each piece, lenses capped, batteries out, in a sturdy box. The label in our email is insured.
How fast am I paid?
Within 48 hours of arrival. Bank transfers usually land the same day. Unseend credit lands on your Unseend account, with 15% on top. Spend it over as many orders as you like: whatever you do not use stays there, and it does not expire.
I live outside the Netherlands
We buy from anywhere. Within the EU the label is free and insured, the same as at home. From outside the EU we agree a fixed price with you by email before you ship, because sending things back is not an option there. We then arrange the label and the customs papers, and pay for them. Offers are in euros; we pay in your own currency, by bank transfer to any account.
Who can sell to you?
Anyone aged 18 or older, wherever they live, selling pieces that are theirs to sell. Like every buyer of used goods in the Netherlands, we keep a short record of each purchase, so that stolen goods can be traced. Now and then that means a few extra questions about a piece or about you. What you tell us is stored securely and never shared.
What happens to my photos and details?
We use them only to price and buy your pieces, and to pay you. We don't share them and don't use them for marketing.
